Twitter appoints Mike Gupta as CFO

Twitter CEO confirmed the appointment with a tweet

Microblogging site Twitter announced two new changes in its top management today. Twitter appointed Mike Gupta as the chief financial officer of the company, as Ali Rowghani moved on to take the role of the chief operating officer.

Dick Costolo, CEO Twitter, confirmed the appointments with a tweet that said: “Congratulations to @ROWGHANI on his new role as COO and to @mgupta on his new role as CFO."

Gupta though has been working with Twitter since November 2012 is new to using the microblogging site. According to his Linkedin Porfile, he joined Twitter as VP corporate finance and treasury.

Before joining Twitter, Gupta has worked with Zynga, he was also Yahoo! as SVP corporate development and finance, chief treasury officer and was with Merrill Lynch for over six years as VP Investment banking.
