* Easypad (The sticky-notes widget)

We all like to set reminders, don't we? And, sticky notes play a big role in keeping those reminders in front of us. We have posted them on refrigerators, bulletin boards, workstation spaces, monitors and a lot more places. Easypad lets you stick these reminders on your Android device's home screen. You can choose from six different designs for your notes (the pro version, which needs to be purchased, has 24 designs). You can use the Easypad widget to place notes on the homescreen. Click on the widget and it leads you to the app where your note is stored. Users also have the option of placing reminder alarms that can stay on the notifications bar. Available for Android

* Google Goggles (Search using photos)

No, we are not talking about Google Glass. Goggles is Google's image recognition mobile app that lets you search using pictures. You click something using Goggles, and Google comes back with the search results closest to the subject. It is pretty accurate. You can scan barcodes to get product information, famous landmarks, books, paintings and so on. We used it a few times and it was right on the money. As mentioned on the Google support page, Goggles would get you the "best results" if you click pictures of "logos, artwork, products, text, landmarks" and so on. Taking pictures of animals, plants and cars is "not so good". Our personal favourites were translating foreign language text and solving Sudoku puzzles! This one's the pick of the bunch so far. Available for Android

* Flava (Your digital note journal)

Writing journals and maintaining a diary is something we have all done. These things are the carriers of many our memories and first-time experiences. And now in this digital age where paper is slowly being replaced by digital space, Flava is one app that lets users write, record, capture and save their memories. You can save moments or important events on the Flava cloud. It's an immersing app that allows you to add tags, emoticons and categories to every entry. It even syncs the weather condition when you were filing the entry. These tags and types help you sort out entries later. You can also set a password on the app in case you want to keep your entries private. In short, Flava is a brilliant app to maintain your digital diary. Available for Android

* Pushbullet (What's on your PC is on your phone)

Do you have data on your personal computer that you want to send to your smartphone?

Then Pushbullet is the answer. Pushbullet allows users to send pictures, links, addresses and other information from their computers to their smartphones wirelessly, and vice versa. You can see notifications from your smartphone on your computer - texts, calls, WhatsApp messages and so on. Install Pushbullet on your phone, and its extension on your system browser, and you are good to go. Available for Android
