The world's fastest passenger's train, Maglev, has surpassed its earlier speed, reaching 603 kilometers an hour (375 miles an hour) in a test run on Tuesday, against 581 kph (361 mph) set in 2003. However, the Japanese train travelled only one mile at 603 kph.

The Maglev trains were started as a project of Japan Airlines and the national railways with government support. These have undergone decades of testing. Japan's high-speed rail services are among the most advanced in the world, with hundreds of trains running each day with minimal delays. These trains runs above rails suspended by powerful magnets, unlike bullet trains that run on steel rails.
