Government to set up AIM to nurture innovation culture
Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) will involve academics, entrepreneurs and researchers to foster a culture of innovation, R&D and scientific research in India

With an aim to develop innovation culture in the country, the budget proposes to set up Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) in NITI Aayog which will provide a platform to propagate research & development initiatives. “AIM will be an innovation promotion platform involving academics, entrepreneurs and researchers and draw upon national and international experiences to foster a culture of innovation, R&D and scientific research in India. The platform will also promote a network of world-class innovation hubs and Grand Challenges for India,” said Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister, during his budget speech. The government has earmarked Rs 150 crore initially for AIM.
