Dr Chigurupati Nageswara Rao, Chairman of Granules India Ltd, passed away today in Guntur at the age of 87 years. Dr Rao was an active member of the medical fraternity and served as the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Medical Council for 13 years until his retirement in 2007. Dr Rao also served as a member of the Medical Council of India and led several studies on how to improve healthcare in the country. Dr Nageswara Rao also served as a Director of Hindustan Antibiotics Ltd, India's first public sector drug manufacturing company.
