Sylvia Kleemann will become Merck’s Head of Group Tax as of January 1, 2014, and will report directly to Matthias Zachert, Member of the Executive Board and Chief Financial Officer.

At the same time, Sylvia Kleemann has a very broad understanding of both public and family-owned companies, which makes her ideally suited for her new position at Merck,” said Zachert.

Armin Gembruch, who has served as Head of Group Tax since May 1, 2011, will leave the company on his own request on December 31, 2013 in order to pursue new professional opportunities.
