The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) Bhubaneswar Chapter & NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd. organized a seminar on ‘National Pension Scheme (NPS)’ in association with Business Standard on 24th July, 2016.
CMA Manas Kumar Thakur, President, ICAI, Kolkata, inaugurated the seminar. CMA Siba Prasad Kar, chairman of the Bhubaneswar Chapter, delivered the welcome address and CMA Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak, Chairman, Professional Development Committee, delivered the keynote address.
Prasenjit Mukherjee, Assistant Vice President, NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd., Mumbai, and Sandeepan Mukherjee, Manager, NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd., Kolkata, spoke in detail about the National Pension System (NPS).
CMA N. B. Tripathy, G.M. (Finance), NALCO Ltd, spoke on ‘Post retirement planning & employee and NPS – perspective of organization’. He gave a comparative analysis of employee benefits provided by NALCO Ltd. and Indian Fortune 500 companies and explained why NALCO Ltd. had identified NPS as a key employee benefit and how it has been well-received by NALCO employees.
Prasenjit Mukherjee explained the nuances and benefits of NPS to a packed audience in an interactive session. He explained in detail the tax benefits available to corporate subscribers and the advantages for corporates in the case of superannuation being replaced by NPS.
More than 200 Cost & Management Accountants and others from various private and public sector organisations actively participated in the seminar.
