Ram Vilas Paswan, a Dalit leader who was part of several governments headed by disparate parties, died on Thursday at 74. He was the founder of the Lok Janshakti Party and Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He had recently undergone a heart operation.
