Bayer plans to complete the acquisition of Monsanto on June, 7, following the receipt of all required approvals from regulatory authorities. Most importantly, Bayer will remain the company name. Monsanto will no longer be a company name. The acquired products will retain their brand names and become part of the Bayer portfolio, the Bayer said in a statement.Earlier India approved the merger and latest one is US Justice dept which clears the way for merging both giants, completing $63 bn deal.However, in India, Bayer CropScience Limited and Monsanto India Limited are listed entities on the stock exchange. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved mega merger of Bayer AG and Monsanto. However the monopoly regulator has also prescribed certain conditions. With CCI approval $66 billion deal, proposed in September 2016, is very near to final closure and merged entity will be world's biggest seed and pesticide firm.
