Social activist and former Haryana MLA Swami Agnivesh passed away on Friday at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in Delhi

Agnivesh, in his plea, claimed that the state government and the police are not conducting a proper investigation in accordance with the law

The social activist claimed that he had informed BJP leader and Union minister Harsh Vardhan before visiting there and will be lodging a formal complaint with the police about the assault

Agnivesh, who was attacked allegedly by a group of BJP affiliated youth wing workers in Jarkhand last month, said this was the time to take up the challenge to fight communal forces

It is his standing up for the rights of the pahadiya adivasis that makes him a trouble-maker and he is doubly annoying as he is a sanyasi who is not speaking the language of Hindutva

Through its penchant for blaming the victim, a clear signal has been sent to lynch mobs that their cause would be championed by the government
