The Delhi government is preparing the Delhi Land Records Bill, 2026, to assign every property a unique digital identity through a "Property Aadhaar Card." The proposed law aims to digitise land records, create a common database and simplify ownership verification, property transactions and inheritance claims. The project will use drone surveys and digital mapping, building on the Centre's SVAMITVA scheme. If passed, the legislation could modernise Delhi's property records system, improve transparency and reduce ownership disputes.
