Come December and CEON Solutions, a startup company incubated at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA)'s Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), is all set to launch its latest software for colleges across the country.
To be branded under the name of 'iCampus', the software offers to provide an integrated campus run through a single software hosted in a US-based server. The company intends to provide an online platform for all activities on campus, and collaborate for multi-dimensional development of the student. The various tools of i-Campus are designed to achieve e-ducation, transparency, accountability and e-Governance in institutes.
"After a lot of research and innovation, we have come up with iCampus, which is an internationally awarded intelligent online software solution to enhance the quality of education. This solution aims to bring parents, faculty and management together, gives a single interface for all activities happening in campus, and collaborates for multi-dimensional development of the student. iCampus has many analytical, data mining and decision making tools designed to bridge the gap between internal, external users as well as between departments. We have already made the proposals to IIMA, National Institute of Design (NID), Gujarat University, while Ganpat University is already availing of the service," says Abhay Panjiyar, chief executive officer and managing director of CEON Solutions.
Other institutes that have been approached with a similar offer are Nirma University in Ahmedabad, University of Bikaner in Rajasthan and Chandragupta Institute of Management, a management institute that functions on the pattern of IIM in Patna. The software aims to serve the purpose of saving time, energy and cost of the institutes by providing online applications.
"The concept of rental model is something new that we would be offering for just Rs 10,000 per month.Besides, the product will be available at a cost between Rs 10-40 lakh on purchase. This will be the first campus Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in the country to be based on the the SaaS model, where the universities do not need to install and run the application on their own computer. Also, a server may cost Rs 80 lakh in the market. iCampus will be the Google for campus ERP and will cost only one-tenth of ERP with just basic internet access. The iCampus software is 20 times more helpful than other software, which only deal with the fees, results and other basic details of the students,"
CEON Solutions provides integrated Education Process Management Solutions and Consultancy to educational Institutes. The company already has a similar product for schools called i-School, a knowledge-based software package for schools, besides an NGO Resource Planning Solutions and Police Inventory Management software.
