The new flights would be introduced next year to Kuwait from Kerala, Mangalore and Ahmedabad and to Dubai from Goa, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
Flights by the low cost airline would also be launched to Dhaka from Kolkata. It also proposes to have a fleet of 25 aircraft by 2009-end, according to Air-India source here.
Beginning operations with three leased aircraft, Air-India Express today has a fleet of 18 B737-80 aircraft, the most technologically advanced single-aisle jet aircraft.
AIE, the source said, has made remarkable progress in terms of fleet and network expansion and number of passengers carried since its inception this day in 2005.
"While AIE had carried 0.5 million passengers in its inaugural year, 1.8 million passengers travelled on AIE flights in the fiscal ending March, 2008," the source said.
AIE today operates 153 weekly flights between 13 Indian cities
