Amara Raja Q2 net up 35% at Rs 95 cr

Company had posted a net profit of Rs 70.10 crore during the same period of previous fiscal

Amara Raja Batteries today posted 34.92% increase in net profit at Rs 94.58 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 70.10 crore during the same period of previous fiscal.

Net sales of the company rose to Rs 804.72 crore during the second quarter, as compared to Rs 716.15 crore during the same period of previous fiscal, Amara Raja Batteries Ltd said in a statement.

"I am happy to note that our sustained good performance continues to be in line with our annual plan and expectations, despite slowing economy, volatile rupee and sluggish demand in the automotive and UPS OEM sectors," Amara Raja Batteries Vice Chairman and Managing Director,Jayadev Galla said.

 Shares of the company today closed at Rs 315.30 apiece on the BSE, up 1.11% from previous close.
