Anil Ahuja quits 3i

Anil Ahuja, Managing Partner and head of Asia, 3i, one of the leading Asia-focused private equity major, has quit the firm.

In a statement issued today, company informed that Ahuja will be leaving 3i to pursue other opportunities, with 3i retaining his expertise through a part-time consultancy agreement.

Ahuja joined 3i in April 2005 and has more than 20 years of international financial services experience.

Ahuja currently serves on the Board of Adani Enterprises Limited and Vijai Electricals and has previously served on various Boards including Nimbus Communications Limited, Adani Power, HDFC Bank, HDFC Securities, Domino’s Pizza India Limited and MTR Foods.

3i has also announced appointment of Samir Palod as Managing Director, India, with immediate effect. Palod joined 3i’s Mumbai office in 2005 and is a Partner in the company’s Infrastructure business.

Prior to joining 3i, Palod worked at Citi group and Arthur Anderson.

Palod will report to Cressida Hogg, Managing Partner - Infrastructure, who is based in London.

He will lead 3i’s Indian team of investment professionals, based in Mumbai and Delhi, who are focused on managing infrastructure investments in its India Infrastructure Fund and its private equity portfolio, stated the release.
