ArcelorMittal to seek forest clearance

The estimated reserve in the mine is about 50 million tonnes, whereas ArcelorMittal's total iron ore requirement is pegged at 600 million tonnes annually once the plant reaches full production capacity.     

The Centre had earlier sought clarification from Jharkhand government on reasons for recommending Karampada mines to ArcelorMittal when other steel players had also applied for the same mine.     

After receiving facts related to recommendation of the mine, the Centre finally approved it in favour ArcelorMittal.
