Power transmission and distribution company Areva T&D India reported a 34.2 per cent drop in net profit after tax at Rs 55.24 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2008 compared to Rs 83.91 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous financial year. Areva T&D India Ltd is the Indian subsidiary of French multinational Areva France SA.
The company's total income increased from Rs 740.49 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2007 to Rs 938.84 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2008.
For the year ended December 31, 2008, the company recorded a net profit after tax of Rs 226.32 crore compared to Rs 216.30 crore for the previous year. Total Income increased from Rs 2023.15 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 to Rs 2655.45 crore for the year ended December 31, 2008.
