BA introduces third non-stop flight between Kolkata and London

| Company general manager, south Asia, Andy Stern said the airlines would now operate Boeing-777 aircraft on all the three days in lieu of the current Boeing-747 to increase the number of seats on the route. |
| With the resumption of the third flight, the airlines operate 19 flights per week to India and wants to double the number. |
| " We want to increase the number of flights with more importance to the south and connect Bangalore and Hyderabad in particular provided it is permitted ", he said. |
| It currently operates seven weekly flights each out of Delhi and Mumbai, three from Kolkata and two from Chennai with all flights non-stop to London. |
| The new flight today arrived at the Netaji Subhas International Airport of Kolkata a little after the scheduled time from London due to fog and left on its return journey a little after its scheduled departure with nearly 100 passengers. |
| Stern said the new flight would arrive Kolkata at 8.35 am and leave for London at 10.35 am. The existing two flights reach the city at 4.35 am and leave for London at 7.10 am. |
| Stern said the air travel market between the two countries would continue to grow rapidly. The introduction of the new flight was aimed at meeting growing customer demand in the region and promote tourism in both the countries. |
