Pune-based Bajaj Auto today reported over two fold jump in its motorcycle sales at 2,32,939 units in January.

The company had sold 1,09,666 units in January last year, Bajaj Auto (BAL) said in a statement.

BAL attributed the monthly jump to an all-time sales record of its Pulsar model. The bike sold 71,970 units during January.

In addition, the company also sold 92,035 units of its newly launched 100cc Discover DTS-Si during the month.

The company said the good performance by the two bikes has increased the company's share to 32 per cent in the Indian motorcycle market in January, up from 21 per cent in the year ago period.

Total two-wheeler sales during the month also jumped over two-fold to 233,049 units compared with 110,363 units in the same period a year ago, it added.

BAL's exports went up 32.70 per cent to 71,695 units in January from 54,027 units a year ago.

Total vehicle sales of the company last month stood at 266,018 units compared to 132,348 units in the same period a year ago, a growth of over two-fold, the statement said.

The company reported a rise of 49.96 per cent in its three-wheeler sales during January at 32,969 units, against 21,985 units during the same month last year.

BAL said its commercial vehicle sales continued to grow across various segments but did not give details.
