Bayer CropScience has suspended manufacturing activities at its Ankleshwar, Gujarat, unit after being asked by the authorities to do so following a fire at its site on March 11.
"Bayer CropScience has suspended manufacturing at the site," the company said in a release here today.
The agrochem company is currently working closely with the local authorities and seeks to resume normal production as early as feasible, it said.
"Bayer CropScience has sufficient stocks of key products manufactured at Ankleshwar so that no major interruption of product supply to its customers is foreseen at this time," the release said.
Bayer CropScience is one of the world's leading companies in the area of crop protection, non agricultural pest-control, seeds and plant biotechnology.
