BEML to produce stainless steel wagons

BEML Limited, a Mini Ranta Category-I Public Sector under the Ministry of Defence and Steel Authority of India, a Navaratna Company under the Ministry of Steel have signed a  Memorandum of Understanding for supply of stainless steel.

Under the MoU, BEML will associate with Salem Steel Plant (SSP) for design, development and supply of 100 Tonne Stainless Steel Wagons to Indian Railways.

These wagons will be manufactured according to the design and specifications approved by RDSO.

In this venture, SSP will supply total stainless steel material and BEML will produce wagons.

The production of stainless steel wagons will be taken up at the Bangalore Complex of BEML.
