BSI Management Systems India Pvt.Limited, a division of the UK-based BSI Group, which works with organisations to assess the implementation and administration of management systems and business processes, plans to reach out to the large, small and medium oufits in north of Delhi.

A new Management Systems standard EN 16001 has been published recently with the aim of achieving energy reduction and conservation, which also would have an impact on reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

According to the spokesperson of the BSI Management Systems India, EN 16001 was launched in August 2009 in India and that could help the industrial outfits save their energy costs up to 20 per cent.

He added that the amount of investment for adopting the EN 16001 could vary from unit to unit but could be more cost effctive with a larger scale of operation.

He said BSI Management Systems had commenced the awareness programmes in Punjab to reach out to the potential users as the understanding of the new standard was pre-requisite for adopting the technique.
