Satyam Computer founder B Ramalinga Raju, his brother and former Managing Director Rama Raju and ex-CFO Vadlamani Srinivas were taken into custody by the CBI today to interrogate them further in the Rs 7,800- crore fraud case.

The XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate yesterday granted permission to the CBI to take custody of the trio for two more days from today.

The CBI had sought the custody stating that the agency wanted to further question the accused following some new disclosures during their seven-day custodial interrogation from March 10 to 17.

A seven-member CBI team, who were members of Multi-Disciplinary Investigation Team (MDIT) set up specially to investigate the fraud, arrived at Chanchalguda jail here at about 9.45 am and took the trio into their custody as per the court orders.

In its orders, the designated court also restricted the presence of the counsels of the accused for two hours only. The court said the counsels of the accused should be allowed to be present from 10 to 11 am and again from 3 pm to 4 pm.
