The Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is organising the 15th All-India Whips Conference on February 10-11 in Chandigarh in collaboration with the Government of Punjab.
The conference will be inaugurated by Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT of Chandigarh Shivraj V. Patil today.
The conference will be presided over by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Water Resources, Pawan Kumar Bansal.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Speaker, Punjab Legislative Assembly will also address the gathering in the inaugural session of the conference.
A spokesman of the ministry said the conference was periodically held to discuss matters of mutual interest on the subjects concerning the functioning of the Parliament and state legislatures and made unanimous recommendations for consideration of Central and state governments as well as the Parliament and state legislatures.
