The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the city civic body in Bangalore, issued a property tax notice to Wipro asking it to pay Rs 19 crore, or face legal consequences. The dispute is with regard to the company’s headquarters and facilities at Doddakannelli village, near Sarjapur in Bangalore. The BBMP says the company has to pay tax as calculated at Rs 20 a sq ft.
