Education solutions provider Educomp Solutions today said it has received a Rs 60.72 crore order from the Chhattisgarh government for implementation of ICT solutions across 582 government high schools and higher secondary institutes.
The order, received on August 27, 2011, covers six districts, namely Sarguja, Jashpur, Korba, Korea, Raigarh and Janjgir Champa, Educomp said in a statement.
The total value of the order is Rs 60.72 crore, it added.
The progamme is expected to benefit 3.25 lakh learners from Class IX to XII every year, the statement said.
With the new project, the total number of schools in Edureach's (Educomp's ICT division) portfolio is 11,154.
"We are pleased that over three lakh students across these 582 schools in Chhattisgarh will now have access to computers and computer-aided learning, which will bring their learning on par with many of their more privileged city counterparts," Edureach President Soumya Kanti said.
The project will be implemented under a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model for a period of five years.
This will include the supply and maintenance of computer hardware, software and lab accessories, provisions for a computer faculty in each school and training of school teachers every year.
The order also entails providing computer educational services, including the deployment, operation and maintenance of school management software and multimedia educational software as per the state board curriculum in 370 learning areas, covering core subjects like mathematics, social studies, English and science, safe usage of the internet and awareness on cyber-crime.
