Flipkart’s tie-up with smartphone makers like China’s Xiaomi and Motorola has proved a success. It crossed $1-billion gross merchandise sales volume in February.
The Moto G will be priced Rs 1,000 less than the earlier version at Rs 12,999. The phone will be up for sale from Friday (September 5) midnight. The other two will be launched later this month.

US-based Motorola has seen a revival in the country since the launch of Moto G in February. In less than a year of re-entering the Indian market, it has become the fourth-largest smartphone seller, according to a Canalys’s report. The company has been selling its lead products only through Flipkart. “Motorola is aggressively looking to expand its teams in Delhi and cities after the success of Moto G and Moto X,” a source said.
