India’s largest retailer Future Group is eyeing sales of almost Rs 840 crore pan India during ‘The Great Indian Shopping Festival 2010’ beginning April 17.
The event being organised at all the Future Group retail formats through May 16 is expected to register 30 million footfalls.
“In the previous such shopping fest in December 2008, we had registered sales of Rs 700 crore and 25 million footfalls,” Big Bazaar area manager S N Gangil said here.
He noted since the markets were on the upturn now, at least 20 per cent growth was expected this time round.
The retail major has a total 16 million sq ft spread across India in 73 cities and 65 rural areas. Future Group’s various formats include Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, Pantaloons, Central, HomeTown and eZone, besides Brand Factory, Indigo Nation, Celio, Staples, Mother Earth among others.
