Car-maker General Motors India saw sales climb by 12.58 per cent to 8,617 units in September this year from 7,654 units in the same month last year.
"The increase in sales was primarily driven by the response to Chevrolet Beat, Cruze and Spark... Other car lines have also registered impressive growth during the month," General Motors India said in a statement.
The company sold 2,424 units of its Spark hatchback, 847 units of its Cruze sedan and 2,753 units of its latest compact car, Beat, in the reporting month, it added.
It also sold 287 units of premium hatchback Aveo U-Va, 325 units of entry-level sedan Aveo, 236 units of mid-sized sedan Optra, 1,578 units of multi-utility vehicle Tavera and 167 units of sport utility vehicle Captiva.
The company has ramped up production by adding a second shift at its Halol and Talegaon plants to meet increased demand.
