Godrej Interio, furniture and interior solutions company, is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in south India — either in Tamil Nadu or Karnataka.
South currently accounts for around 32 per cent of the total turnover of the company. “Our turnover at present is around Rs 1,100 crore and we expect to touch Rs 3,000 crore by 2015. South India will be an important contributor,” said Anil Mathur, chief operating officer. Mathur was here to launch the company’s first franchise store.
At present, its manufacturing unit in the west caters to the southern market. “We will finalise the south plan by the end of the current fiscal,” said Mathur.
The company would also increase the number of shops to 270 by 2013. It has around 400 dealers across the country.
