Internet search giant Google today said it has closed one of its offices in Hyderabad for two days after an employee was diagnosed with the H1N1 virus.
Confirming the move, a Google spokesperson said, "One of our contractual workers in Hyderabad has been diagnosed with the H1N1 virus. He has been hospitalised and is under full medical care. As a precautionary measure, we have closed the concerned office in Hyderabad for two days July 14th and 15th."
The person added that the company is taking all necessary steps, including sanitising of common areas, to protect the employees.
Google employs a small number of contractual people in the concerned Hyderabad centre, the person said declining to give the exact headcount of the centre.
However, Google added that there would be no impact on the operations.
"This is not the Google's main office in Hyderabad...This is a small centre with very few people. So there would be no impact on operations," Google said.
About 31 confirmed cases of swine flu has been registered in Hyderabad so far. The total tally of swine flu patients countrywide is over 200.
