This would be to the extent of 35 per cent of its total Urea production. GSFC has in place the necessary infrastructure to commence the production of the Neem coated urea during current financial year.
"Neem coated Urea technology is purely an in-house development of GSFC team and that too at a nominal capital cost. Due to neem coating, urea will have added value of being the one with an eco –friendly natural fungicide in soil over and above nitrogen nutrients which would benefit the crop immensely," GSFC said in a statement.
It further claimed that this will prevent the misuse of urea for industrial purpose down the line as Neem coated urea creates foam and odour. Commercial production of Neem coated urea has started and the product is now available for sale to the farmers.
