H&R Johnson (India), a leading tile manufacturer for bathroom and kitchen plans to focus on the super premium segment for future growth, with its foray into the wellness segment by the end of July.
“We plan to get into the wellness segment by introducing products like jet massagers, multifunction shower panels and shower enclosures among others. Most of these products will be sourced from China and European markets,” said Mr Ajit Singh, Vice-President, Johnson Bathrooms.
The company — a division of Prism Cement Ltd – has already started production of luxury range of bath fittings, and will be offering products from wellness segment by the end of July.
Johnson Bath Division clocked in a revenue of Rs 103 crore in the last fiscal registering a year on growth of 40 per cent.
According Singh, the company is confident of higher growth in the segment in current fiscal, with capacity expansion and introduction of new range of products.
The company has also expansion plans for its tiles business as it plans to come up with new units over the next few years, including one at at Panagarh Industrial Park near Durgapur in West Bengal's Burdwan district.
The company, which is infusing around Rs 400 crore as part of its scale-up plans, expects its 12th production unit in Durgapur to be operational by the end of next year.
"The foundation stone of the unit, for which 66 acres of land has been allotted, was laid earlier this month and we hope to be commercially operational within the next 18 months," said Singh.
However, he did not comment on the investment for the Duragapur plant.
