The company is projecting a growth rate of 15-20 per cent in 2008-09. "Havells is the second largest manufacturer of cables in India and has the largest integrated fan factory in the country and plans are afoot to augment production in the two sectors significantly in the new fiscal," company's joint Managing Director Anil Gupta said here today.

A leader in production of wide range of enhanced electrical and lighting products, Havells has been laying emphasis on the manufacture of more environment-friendly and energy efficient lamps, he said.

Gupta said that after registering record growth in India, the company made a quantum jump by joining hands with US firm Sylvania.

Havells' electric motor plant at Neemrana in Rajasthan, set up last year at an investment of Rs 300 crore in a tie-up with AAG Motors of Spain is the largest of its kind in India.

Havells' 18 state-of-the-art manufacturing plants spread over Faridabad, Alwar, Haridwar, Gurgaon, Bhiwadi, Baddi, Sahibabad, Noida and Neemrana, besides in Europe, Latin America and Africa have been churning out globally acclaimed products.

Gupta said that investment in the company's R & D at Noida would go up "depending on the rise in turnover."

Havells' opened its new office in the city today.
