Hawkins Cookers today posted a 23.7% increase in its profit to Rs 9.84 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2011, as against the same period last fiscal.
The company, which sells cookware items, had a net profit of Rs 7.95 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2010, Hawkins Cookers said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Besides, the company's board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 40 per share of Rs 10 each.
During the quarter under review, Hawkins Cookers' net sales stood at Rs 103.97 crore, 27.9% increase from Rs 81.29 crore in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the firm's net profit declined by 13.73% at Rs 31.77 crore from Rs 36.83 crore in the previous fiscal.
During the year, the company had a net sales of Rs 331.55 crore, up by 16.10% from Rs 285.56 crore posted in the previous fiscal.
Shares of Hawkins Limited closed at Rs 1,233.70 on the BSE, up 11.71% from the previous close.
