Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA), a body governing 16 direct selling companies in India, has roped in Oriflame India managing director Fredrik Widell as its new chairman. Widell takes over the role from AMC Cookware India CEO David R Stanley. In his new capacity, Widell will be responsible for spearheading IDSA's mission of promoting direct selling in India with an aim to make it one of the most profitable industries and liaison with the government to lay down regulatory guidelines for the industry.
"I am pleased to take up the responsibility to work towards the enhancement of direct selling as an industry. I will extend my full support and protect the character and status of the direct selling industry so that all those engaged in it can achieve their objectives to earn, learn, and become self-fulfilled and well respected,” Commenting on his appointment, Fredrik Widell said.
