A Mumbai-bound Jet Airways passenger aircraft developed a technical snag in its wheel at the Harni airport here today delaying the flight for more than three hours, airport sources said.
The Vadodara-Mumbai flight which was scheduled to depart at 0715 hours developed a problem in its wheel while landing at the airport here around 0630 hours, they said without disclosing the details of the snag. The pilot noticed the damage in the wheels of the aircraft, coming from the metropolis, following which repair works were initiated due to which passengers were not allowed to board the flight, airport sources told PTI.
The wheel, which was not functioning properly is awaiting a replacement and a spare tyre is being brought from Mumbai in an Indigo aircraft, after which the flight will take off soon, sources added.
Meanwhile, over 50 passengers remained stranded at the airport waiting for the departure while some of them cancelled their tickets and returned home.
