State-owned Neyveli Lignite Corp today reported net profit of Rs 273.71 crore for quarter ended September 30, 2010 over Rs 243.59 crore for the same period last fiscal, an increase of 12.3 per cent.
The net sales of the PSU for Q2 2010-11 stood at Rs 1,063.20 crore over Rs 881.55 crore in the corresponding period last financial year, the company said in a statement.
The mini-ratna company reported almost 16 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 615.81 crore for the six months ending September 30, 2010, over the same period in 2009-10.
In the first six months of the current fiscal, the net sales of the company increased by 25 per cent to Rs 2,208.63 crore. The company's net sales stood at Rs 1,765.85 crore in the same period in 2009-10.
Shares of the company closed at Rs 161.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 0.75 per cent from the previous close.
