The third unit of 500 MW has been commissioned at the Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project. The plant is run by Aravali Power Company -- a joint venture of NTPC, Haryana Power Generation Corp and Indraprastha Power Generation Corp. The plant is located in Jhajjar, Haryana.

"With this, the total capacity of NTPC group has become 39,674 MW," it said in a filing to the BSE.

The company aims to have an installed capacity of 1,28,000 MW by 2032.

NTPC has 16 coal-fired projects and seven gas/liquid fuel-based plants, besides seven joint venture/subsidiary power stations.
