Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals today said its consolidated net profit declined by 53.96 per cent to Rs 156.18 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 339.25 crore for the fiscal ended March 31, 2010, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Consolidated net sales of the company stood at Rs 1,716.98 crore for the year ended March 2011 over Rs 1,298.72 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
The company posted a standalone net profit of Rs 159.48 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011 over Rs 331.33 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010.
Standalone net sales of the company stood at Rs 1,594.67 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011 over Rs 1,205.18 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
In a separate filing to the BSE, the company said its board of directors at a meeting held today have recommended a dividend of Rs 3 per share on the equity share of Rs 10 each.
Shares of Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals today closed at Rs 294.75 on BSE, down 4.64 per cent from its previous close.
