Gee Woong Sung has been appointed as the new chairman and managing director of Posco-India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Posco, the world’s fourth largest steel producer. Sung has taken over the charge from outgoing CMD, Y W Yoon.

“I have been participating in the development and implementation of several projects in India. With my experience, I will try my best to make Posco-India the most competitive steel company,” said Sung in a meswsage posted in the company's website.

He said, it has taken almost nine years for the company to see significant progress on its Odisha project since signing of MOU in June, 2005. "We believe that before starting construction of the plant we should have all the required statutory clearances, as we believe to follow all the laws and regulations of Government of India in letter and spirit", Sung added.
