PW auditors for police custody

The sixth metropolitan chief magistrate here has granted police custody of Price Waterhouse (PW) partners and auditors S Gopalkrishnan and Talluri Srinivas for two days from February 4.

The custody of the duo was sought by the Crime Investigation Department of Andhra Pradesh, which is probing the Rs 7800-crore fraud in the Satyam Computer Services. Price Waterhouse is the former statutory auditor of the IT company.

The magistrate  has dismissed the bail petition of the PW auditors, who were arrested on January 24 on charges of colluding with Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju in fudging the company's accounts. Goplakrishnan is PW's chief relationship partner and Talluri its engagement leader.

Talluri signed the last Satyam audit report on behalf of PW.

Also, the court reserved the orders on the bail plea of SRSR Holding general manager V Gopalkrishnam Raju for February 6. The prosecution is of the view that Gopalakrishnam Raju has played a key role in various land deals done by the Satyam founder and his family.
