Bullish about the success of its new economy brand of suiting and shirting fabric 'Makers', Raymond Limited is planning to roll out the product in over 2,000 outlets in the state. Tapping over 180 towns by March 2013 in Gujarat, Raymond will be focusing on tier-3 to tier-5 towns for the economy brand.

"There is a huge potential, especially in the smaller towns and rural areas, in Gujarat for the economy brand even as the purchasing power is increasing in these regions. Considering this, we are plan to sell our economy brand Makers from about 2,000 outlets in Gujarat in the first year," said Ram Bhatnagar, Vice President – Emerging Businesses of Raymond Limited.

The suiting range of Makers is priced starting at Rs 250 while the shirting range starts from Rs 149. The Makers range of shirting and trouser fabrics will be distributed through a distinct retail network.

Gujarat already contributes about Rs 125 crore to Raymond in terms of fabric and apparel sales. Earlier, Raymond launched the Makers brand in Eastern and Northern markets. "The launch of MAKERS in Eastern markets a year ago marked the textile giant’s foray into the economy segment and in retailing poly viscose fabrics. After successful East and North India launches, we are pleased to enter the Western market with Gujarat," said Bhatnagar.

Keeping in mind the preferences of the youth today, the Makers range has youth-centric vibrant designs, fancy colours and special emphasis on innovative finishes. The collection comprises a carefully selected design pallet ranging from stripes to self, micro structures and checks. While the total manufacturing capacity of Raymond Ltd. is 40 million metres per annum, the company has added another 6-7 million metres per annum for the Makers brand.

"We foresee significant scope of growth for the brand in popular price segment across the nation given the style-consciousness and increasing aspirations of the Indian youth. Makers aims to address the needs of this populace with its wide range of fabric colours, matching options and appropriate pricing," Bhatnagar added.

Meanwhile, the range of well-matched shirting and trouser fabrics under the Makers label comes in an attractive Combo pack which are a boon to the style conscious customers in the economy segment. It encourages them to be stylish at all times, everyday and thus exude confidence.

These pre-matched ready-to-stitch Combo Packs will be available at prices starting at Rs 499.
