RSP achieves best April-July performance

Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) recorded best ever April-July production performance in key areas in the fiscal 2013-14. During April-July the plant produced 779,842 tonnes of hot metal, 732,901 tonnes of crude steel and 713,080 tonnes of finished steel thereby scripting its best ever first quarter performance in these three vital areas.

Apart from this, the production of hot rolled coil for sale touched new high of 317,409 tonnes since inception while the plate production was recorded at an all-time high of 158,740 tonnes. RSP also made 46,450 tonnes of galvanised sheets registering a growth of 15.2 per cent over the corresponding period of last year, whereas the cold rolled non-oriented steel production was to the tune of 23,729 tonnes which witnessed a growth of 4.8 per cent over the corresponding period of 2012-13.
