Production at the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has been the highest in April this year since inception.
Sinter production of 2,90,052 tonne registered a growth of nearly six percent over April 2009, while hot metal output was 1,92,111 tonne with a growth of more than seven per cent compared to the year-ago period, company officials said here today.
The total crude steel production reached 1,78,781 tonne registering a growth of nearly six per cent over last April. Total saleable steel output was at 1,59,130 tonne recording a growth of more than eight per cent compared to last April.
Dispatches of saleable steel stood at 1,52,573 tonne, thereby registering a growth by four percent over April 2009. RSP commenced fiscal 2010-11 with a proactive strategy of increasing production volumes by maximising capacity utilisation.
