Undeterred by the ongoing crisis, Satyam Computer Services Ltd today announced that its associates and their families will come together to raise funds for orphans.
Led by Ed Cohen, chief learning officer at Satyam Computer, this initiative is aimed at raising Rs 30 lakh that will be utilised to provide home to orphans and those who have been abandoned by their family, living currently at Siria Orphanage.
Started in 2006 at Nagole village in a rented house with 10 children, today Siria is house to 72 orphans.
“The crisis at Satyam has not deterred us to think of people whose problems are much bigger than ours. Satyam continues to have a deep heart,” Ed Cohen said.
He said that the programme, to be held on Sunday, would have numerous stage performances by Siria kids, rendition by Satyam idols, Satyam Footloose winners and many artists from outside the company who have volunteered to perform.
Satyam is leveraging technology to provide a live webcast of the event to 10 of the company’s locations across India and abroad through its in-house web television station called Planet Satyam.
Associates can choose to watch the event from home on internet or office location of their choice along with friends and family. In addition to watching, the viewers can also pledge to contribute using an online process, Cohen added.
