A local court here today admitted a petition filed by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) to further quiz and record the statements of Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju and four other accused in Rs 7,800-crore accounting fraud case in the IT company.
In its petition filed at the fourteenth additional chief metropolitan magistrate, SFIO counsel sought six days time to question and record the statements of Raju brothers, ex-CFO V Srinivas and former Price Waterhouse auditors S Gopalakrishnan and T Srinivas.
The judge posted the matter for hearing tomorrow.
The SFIO counsel informed court that the fraud probe office could not record the statements of the accused properly and fully so as to cover all the issues arising out of the investigation due to short time permitted by the court earlier.
The counsel pleaded the court to allow recording of the statements of Raju brothers for three days and another three days for V Srinivas, Gopalakrishnan and T Srinivas.
Before transferring the Satyam case to the CBI designated court, the sixth additional chief metropolitan magistrate on February 13 had granted two days for SFIO to record the statements of the accused at the Chanchalguda Jail.
The central agency recorded the statements on February 14 and 15 in the jail.
