IT services company Sonata Software has announced that the company has joined the International Air Transport Association's (IATA's) strategic partnerships programme as a preferred partner.

This will enable the company to participate in IATA initiatives on IT solutions and services in the activities of passenger and airport services, flight operations, environment and fuel services.

Sonata has been delivering services to the travel, transportation and logistics (TTL) industry through its key entities — the internal TTL vertical group and TUI InfoTec, the company's JV in Germany with travel and tourism conglomerate TUI Group.

The company has close to 800 professionals who work for the TTL vertical.

"Sonata has expertise in domain and technology related to the travel industry. Our involvement in the IATA strategic partnership programme will strengthen the company’s expertise in the travel industry further,” B Ramaswamy, president & MD of the Bangalore based company said.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2009, Sonata Software had reported a revenue of Rs 378 crore and net profit of Rs 17.76 crore, on consolidated basis.
