Tata Communications Q1 net loss at Rs 281 cr

Tata Communications posted a net consolidated loss of Rs 281.39 crore in the first quarter ended June as compared to a loss of Rs 55.13 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company's net sales increased 12.6 per cent to Rs 2,884.50 crore from Rs 2,561.67 crore.

On the standalone basis, the company managed to post a rise of 24.08 per cent in the net profit at Rs 39.63 crore during the quarter as against Rs 31.94 crore last year. However, the

revenues remained flat at Rs 844.01 crore compared with Rs 842.89 crore last year.

The company's shares closed at Rs 284.80, down 0.44 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
