Commercial Vehicle (CV) manufacturer Tata Motors is expecting about 30% growth in its exports year-on-year, said Ravi Pisharody, executive director, Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd.

On the sidelines of launch of the company's first exclusive bus range dealership, BusZone, in Chennai, he said the company had seen an exports of 45,000 vehicles last year including buses and it is expected to see exports of around 60,000 units this year.

For the next year, the growth would be around 30%, he said, adding that in some of the markets, the exports of buses are higher than those of trucks.

About the bus industry, he said the first half of the current fiscal has seen a growth compared to the decline during the same period last year. The bus industry is expected to grow at around 20% this year and continue the growth in next 12-18 months.

The company is expected to continue maintaining its market share of 40-45% in the segment, he said at the launch of BusZone through which the company intends to increase its business in the bus segment.

He added that there would be more BusZones in various parts of the country depending upon the performance of the first one.

Pisharody said the new strategy is expected to show around 15% additional growth in the company's bus sales in Tamil Nadu.
